The snowmobile trails are definitely taking shape when it comes to brush removal. We got a little bit of base 3-5" but very fluffy. More will come eventually, but trail work is still progressing and now is the perfect time to do the necessary trail improvements and reroutes.
We did a reroute North of Cromwell, the new trail will continue North along 73 an additional 1/4 mile from the old turn off. We will turn in the driveway to the Red Clover WMA and follow the ditch north and east to our existing trail in the swamp. This new trail will make it safer to cross the often water filled ditch "Thanks to beavers" and will lessen the drifting that we had in the open bog swamp. Please, please stay on the new trail and watch out for stumps.
Our club meeting is tomorrow night 5:30 potluck new members welcome, hope to see you there.
Thank you

Thank you to the volunteers who braved the cool temperature on Saturday for the first of many trail cleanup workdays of the season.
The pictures don't always do justice for the condition mother nature and the wildlife can do to the trails in the off season.
Once again, we have and will continue to have significant beaver damage to our beloved trails. In the coming weeks we will be working hard to reroute some of the trails around these often-dangerous water obstacles. We had one of our volunteers fall through the swamp on foot yesterday and went past his chest and did not touch bottom. Fortunately, we were able to get him out, and in a warm vehicle rather quickly.
We also discovered the usual windblown tree damage that occurs every year. These snags often called "Widow Makers" can be very dangerous to remove safely. We often times use a winch to minimize the danger to the volunteers.
The club utilizes many forms of transportation and equipment to access our trails, to do vital trail work. The ground conditions are becoming more favorable for such work; however we are still finding some soft spots.
Thank you

We are 100% volunteer ran organization and enjoy doing work on something we love doing and have a lot of fun doing it. If you like snowmobiling, like our trails, like our area and looking for something to do visit our member site to join us. Or just show up to one of our events.
Stay On The Trails. If you abuse it we will lose it. Our trails would not exist without the gracious support from land owners willing to give us access on their land. Stay on the trails and absolutely Do Not Trespass. Where you go will leave a trail so keep it on the trail.

You may have heard the term its their M.O., well we have an M.O. or Modus Operandi. We don't want to be your ordinary club and that's why we don't have a code of ethics or snowmobiler code. We have a M.O. that defines our key core values in simple terms on how we want to operate and act. These statements should really just be reinforcments of who we already are and how we act.
